This video is addressed to those voters — Democrats or Republicans — who know that Donald Trump is a threat to American democracy, and must not regain the powers of the presidency, but who are considering voting for third party candidates (or not voting at all, which amounts to the same thing in that both amount to forfeiting having any say in who will be President starting next January).
I argue here that the only responsible choice — given that everything is at stake — is to vote for Biden, who is the only person besides the would-be Fascist dictator Donald Trump who has any chance of winning.
- It’s the only responsible choice for Republicans who have bought into the negative view of Biden they’ve been sold by their party. (And I will be making that argument in an op/ed in newspapers in my very Republican region of Virginia.)
- And it is the only responsible choice for Democrats and progressives who might be tempted to “vote their conscience” by voting for other candidate (like maybe Cornell West) who aligns more closely with their political values.
In making my argument, I touch upon what happened in the 2000 Election, when people who voted for Ralph Nader (e.g. the 97,000+ such voters in Florida) made George W. Bush president (and thereby also gave us the disastrous Iraq War).

My longer recording from yesterday led with the topic “Three Countries Whose Right-Wing Parties May be on the Verge of Collapse.” There I talk about favorable signs of power shifting away from some very destructive right-wing forces in the three countries whose politics I follow most closely: the UK (where the Tories are looking doomed), Israel (where the Netanyahu coalition appears to be in growing danger of disintegration), and the United States (where my reading of the forces at play suggest that Trump and the Trump Party are heading for a wipe-out in November).
