There are but those two options for America when it comes to the abortion issue: either everyone gets to live in accordance with their own beliefs (and some are not happy with the choices of others) or some get to force their views on all.
The American way of dealing with religious differences is — wherever it is feasible and consistent with the common good — to let people live according to their own beliefs. That’s the path of Democracy that’s set forth in the First amendment, which both grants religious freedom and declares that the power of the state will not push to “establish” any single religious point of view. The path of Fascism is always about enforcing uniformity, and that’s what Alito’s decision in Dobbs does: all will be compelled to live in accordance with the point of view of the group with power.
