This episode of “A Man on a Mission” — in response to the mass shooting this past week in Kansas City, which turned a celebration into a time of terror -- begins with how the plutocratic (fascistic) political force on the right deceives and manipulates tens of millions of Americans with the gun issue. The deception involves telling people that all their liberties depend on preventing any meaningful regulation of guns in the hands of civilians, and that even small reasonable changes will only lead to their being completely disarmed (which, at one level, means unmanned).
(This whole Republican/NRA propaganda campaign provides a good window into the whole enterprise by which the richest and most powerful work to take even more wealth and power from the average citizens of the United States.)
The discussion of the gun issue then naturally unfolds into some of the Big Picture of the forces at work in the human world, that are imperiling American democracy and even, ultimately, the survival of human civilization. And conveying that Big Picture — what I’m calling A BETTER HUMAN STORY — is the Mission I am on.
